Hey friends—Fury here.
Welcome to the Speakeasy of Strength blog. Yep… I’m writing again.
A lot has happened since Speakeasy of Strength first opened out of my Brooklyn living room back in 2018. Honestly, so much that I’m not even sure where to begin – so I’ll save those stories for another time.
For now, the New Year finds us with two incredible Clubhouses: one in Gowanus, Brooklyn, and one in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Both are powered by an extraordinary team of coaches and a truly special group of humans we lovingly call the mighty mighty Ninja Crew.
Two locations. In-person & virtual. One mission. One heart. United by strength.
Over the last eight years – as a gym owner, fitness educator, and coach – I’ve been tested, humbled, stretched, and changed. I’ve learned a lot. And there’s a lot I want to share.
But for my first piece back, I’m writing for the one person I wish could have witnessed everything that’s unfolded over the last year and a half.
My mom.
This is an excerpt from one of her favorite books, The Tao of Pooh:
“Wisdom, Happiness, and Courage are not waiting somewhere out beyond sight at the end of a straight line; they’re part of a continuous cycle that begins right here. They’re not only the ending, but the beginning as well.”
I love you, Mom.
Cheers to a mighty strong New Year, everyone.
